Although ClickUp is not a traditional dedicated CRM, the introduction of ClickUp 4.0 and AI Agents makes it a formidable contender for managing customer relationships. The 4.0 update brings a faster, cleaner experience, making it easier to navigate pipelines and contacts. The real game-changer, however, is the AI Agents, which can autonomously manage updates and workflows, drastically reducing the manual data entry often associated with CRMs. If you need a CRM integrated with project management, ClickUp offers incredible value; it’s now faster, smarter, and capable of handling sales admin work on its own.

ClickUp handles contact management not as a traditional, built-in CRM module, but through its highly flexible and customizable core features. For instance, sales teams can create a contacts database using list or table views with a custom field for relevant contact details of prospective and existing clients. This customization makes contact management easy for different niches of businesses that may not always need standardized fields.
Furthermore, ClickUp’s native email integration and automations allow for seamless one-on-one communication and related tasks. Team members can send and receive emails from the client directly within the application and even tie them to tasks. Clients can also be added to tasks, and they, in turn, can add comments.
